When the first rays of light
appeared, Anna the bee, would roll over in her bed because she hated getting up
early in the morning. The alarm clock rings, but the bee yawns and mumbles:
-
Uaaah! Five minutes more,
please!
The alarm clock rings again
and she tries to wake up. But she is still sleepy
and even blinking is hard work for her. She mumbles again:
- Five minutes more, please!
Once again the sound of the
alarm clock rouses her. Anna stretches out and yawns, trying to get moving.
- Uaaah! – she grimaces.
She gets up half asleep, and
when she comes out from the hive, she realises that her partners have already
come back full of pollen and nectar.
A little bit surprised at how
late it was, she flaps her wings and gets to work. Through the day, she is
loaded with work because she overslept and missed the early hours of work.
One night when Anna returns to
the hive full of nectar another worker bee comes to her and explains to her:
- Sloth undermine the strength! You must
wake up earlier to overcome sloth.
- But how can I wake up with energy? – asked Anna the bee.
- When you wake up in the morning you must
immediately jump out of bed. You must not wait even five minutes
more.
With this wise advice Anna the
bee learned how to wake up in the morning without much effort. And never again
was she overworked and stressed.

How long
will you lie there, you sluggard? When
will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a
little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and
scarcity like an armed man. (Proverbs 6: 9-11)
