Mummy the rat always was
warning the little mouse about a big dark cat resting on the living room couch.
This big dark cat pretended to be asleep and for that reason the little mouse should not
play outside at night.
However, the little mouse was
curious about whether what mummy told him was true or not.
So, one night, trying to be
silent and not be seen, the little mouse poked his nose out through a little
hole. He retraced for a moment but he went on afterwards. Finally, he tiptoed
past the living room so as to not awaken the big dark cat with any sound.
Every step the little mouse
made frightened him so much that he finally turned around. But at that very
moment the little mouse came across the big dark cat who had wide opened eyes.
The little mouse screamed and
hopped, but trying to run away, but he felt a pawn on his tail.
Being trapped by the big dark
cat´s paws, the little mouse thought his life was hanging by a thread, but he
eventually wriggled his small tail free and rushed off. That huge scare was enough for the little
mouse to understand the significance of obeying his mummy.
Since then, every time the
little mouse poked his nose out through the little hole he recalled that
disobedience always has a price.
